June 18 to 21: a yoga retreat in our Landhaus

We are opening our summer season in a collaboration we are genuinely pleased about. From 18 to 21 June, together with Anne Straub of Yoga im Herzen, we are turning the Landhaus into an oasis of tranquility, nature and good food with a yoga retreat.
It is the first time we have done something like this, and it has taken a while to arrange. Anne came up last autumn to see whether the house would work for it. She stood in the garden for a long time, looked at the wall of mountains behind it, and said yes before we had finished the tour.
What the yoga retreat look like
Everything revolves around time and space for yourself. Under Anne’s guidance you follow a balanced programme of yoga, breathwork and gentle walks in the mountain landscape of the Pitztal.
Mornings begin early, before the valley properly wakes up. There is a session in the garden if the weather allows and in the Stube if it does not, and honestly both are good. Afternoons are unhurried: a walk, or nothing at all, depending on the day and on you.
After the sessions outdoors it is a fine thing to come home to the Landhaus. In the evening you join us in the restaurant, where Arjan cooks. The next morning a proper breakfast is waiting, as always.
A multi-day combination of ultimate me-time and culinary pampering, is how Anne describes it. We would not have put it that way ourselves, but she is not wrong.
Where the walks go
Two of the four days include a guided walk. We are keeping them gentle on purpose. This is not a week for summit ambitions.
One heads up towards the Rifflsee, where the path is easy and the water is an improbable colour. The other follows the valley floor in the late afternoon, when the light comes in low along the Pitze and the whole thing turns gold for about forty minutes.
Neither requires anything more than reasonable walking shoes.
About Anne
Anne Straub has been teaching for over fifteen years and runs Yoga im Herzen. Her approach is unhurried and physically accessible, which is the reason we asked her rather than anyone else: we did not want a retreat that only works if you already have a daily practice.
Beginners are welcome. So are people who have been doing this for twenty years. Anne is good at holding both in the same room.
Practical
The retreat runs from Thursday 18 June to Sunday 21 June. Places are limited, because the house is small and because a group of twelve is where this kind of thing works best.
Included are three nights at the Landhaus, breakfast each morning, dinner each evening, all sessions with Anne and the two guided walks.
Registration goes through Anne directly. More information and the sign-up form are on the Yoga im Herzen website.
One suggestion
Arrive a day early if you can. The valley needs a night to slow you down, and the first morning session lands very differently once it has. We have rooms available on the Wednesday and we are happy to hold one for you.
We are looking forward to this one.
