Pitztal in Winter
One of the most snow-sure corners of the Alps
The Pitztal is a quiet, high alpine valley in the Tyrol. Because the ski area reaches up to Austria's highest glacier, the snow is reliable long after other resorts have thawed. The Pitztal Glacier is the first ski area in Europe to open each season, and it stays open into May.
From the Landhaus you are perfectly placed: ski by day, then return to a warm room, good food and the calm of a valley that has kept its character. Away from mass tourism, but with the full range of winter right on the doorstep.

Pitztal Glacier & Rifflesee
Two ski areas, one lift pass
The modern Gletscherexpress funicular and the Wildspitzbahn cable car carry you from the valley to the glacier. The neighbouring Rifflsee area, family friendly and gentler, is linked by the Rifflsee descent, all on a single ticket.

Pitztal Glacier
Wide glacier pistes, powder bowls and firn runs, mostly red, with blue and black descents from the neighbouring lifts. Home to Café 3440, Austria's highest café, and Tyrol's highest viewing platform.

Rifflsee
Up to 2,880 m around the lake of the same name. A practice area, children's zone and slopes of every level make it ideal for beginners and families, with a X Park and halfpipe nearby for freestylers.
Have you fully explored the Pitztal Glacier and Rifflsee? Then your next adventure awaits just a 20-minute drive away: the Hochzeiger ski area is absolutely worth a visit!
